Sumter officers search for 3 suspects involved in Saturday night shooting

The Sumter Police Department is searching for three suspects involved in a shooting Saturday night that left three others injured on Dibert Street.
Warrants were issued for Kennard Dean, 28, of Bama Lane; Arkeylin Keytron Scott, 27, of West Patricia Drive; and Jerry Michael Washington, 26, of South Blanding Street, according to Tonyia McGirt, public information officer for the police department. Each of the suspects face conspiracy, weapons violations and three attempted murder charges.
The suspects are accused of driving past a gathering at a Dibert Street residence before returning and shooting into the crowd just before 1 a.m., McGirt said. Multiple people were in front of the home when the gunfire started.
A 19-year-old and two 24-year-olds were taken to Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital, where they were treated and later released.
An investigation is continuing, but the incident is considered isolated, McGirt said.
A cash reward may be available for information leading to arrests.
