Sumter police ask for help identifying armed robbery suspect

The Sumter Police Department is asking the public to help identify a man involved in the armed robbery of a convenience store late Wednesday.

An armed man entered the Young's at 940 E. Liberty St. demanding money after midnight Wednesday. He fled the store on foot with an undetermined amount of cash, according to the Sumter Police Department.

No one was injured during the incident.

The robber, whose face was partially covered, wore a black hooded, zippered jacket and light-colored pants and sneakers.

A cash reward is available for information that can lead to an arrest.
