72-year-old Sumter man found safe after being reported missing

UPDATE: According to Tonyia McGirt, public information officer for the Sumter Police Department, Larry Wilson was located Sunday afternoon by the Cayce Police Department. He is safe.

Sumter Police and family members are asking for help in locating a missing 72-year-old Sumter man.

According to Tonyia McGirt, public information officer for Sumter Police Department, Larry Edward Wilson of 9 E. Charlotte Ave. was last seen at 7 p.m. Saturday as he drove away from his home in a black 2009 Nissan Altima with S.C. tag number MS376.

Wilson is 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighs 250 lbs., has brown eyes and salt-and-pepper hair. He was last seen wearing a purple-and-gold Omega Psi Phi T-shirt and tan pants. He has diabetes and a heart condition.

Anyone who may have seen him is asked to call Sumter Police Department immediately at (803) 436-2700. Dial 911 in case of an emergency.
