Sumter police ask public to stay away from Crosswell area after shooting Saturday, Oct. 4; Crosswell Home locked down

Sumter Police Department is responding to a shooting incident in the Crosswell area on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 4, according to Tonyia McGirt, public information officer for the department. Crosswell Home for Children was locked down as a precaution.

Police ask the public to stay away from the area until further notice.
