Sumter Police Department collecting food items for local food banks at Walmart on Broad

Anyone can be a hero this holiday season by helping those in need get access to food.

The Sumter Police Department is holding its Pursuit to End Hunger food drive and is asking the public to donate non-perishable food items to benefit local food banks in Sumter.

Collection boxes are available through Wednesday, Nov. 25, at the Walmart at 1283 Broad St.
