Three people were identified as suspects Friday by Sumter officers after a woman was stabbed early Wednesday after getting a ride on McCrays Mill Road.
According to the Sumter Police Department, 33-year-old Catherine Pack, of Wedgefield, was found outside a home on McCrays Mill when officers were called before 12:45 a.m. between Pinewood and Stadium roads.
Public Information Officer Tonia McGirt said initial reports indicate she was riding her bicycle earlier that night and got a ride from the Circle K on Pinewood. At some point, she was stabbed and forced out of the vehicle.
Video surveillance shows Pack putting her bike into a tan-colored, older-model Honda Odyssey before getting inside. A male driver and at least two other passengers, a man and a woman, were seen inside the van when it pulled away and later turned onto McCrays Mill Road, according to the police department.
After officers arrived, Pack was flown to a hospital in Columbia and remains in critical condition.
According to a news release from the police department, Tyler Lee Flowers, 19, of Pratt Avenue, was taken into custody. Officers are trying to find Raheem Matthew Myers, 28, of East Charlotte Avenue, and Abigail Rae Windham, 19, of Santee Drive. Both are seen on the provided surveillance photos inside of the business.
All three face attempted murder charges.
Anyone with information about anything unusual in the McCrays Mill/Pinewood road area between 11:15 p.m. Tuesday and 12:45 a.m. Wednesday is asked to call the police department at (803) 436-2700.
