Cash rewards are being offered for information that leads to three men either suspected or wanted for questioning in separate cases in Sumter, including an ongoing murder investigation.

The Sumter Police Department is trying to locate Michael Charles Rose and Jaquan Davon Curtis, who both have a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to their arrest, and Kalvon Dontavious Epps. Up to $5,000 is being offered for information that can help locate Epps or help identity suspects in the shooting death of Marcus Brown.

Brown, 54, was fatally wounded in a drive-by on Oct. 30 as he sat in his car outside a home on South Salem Street about 10:15 p.m., and the police department thinks Epps, 21, of West Oakland Avenue, may have information that could help officers in their investigation.

The shooting reportedly occurred as a small, gray, four-door vehicle passed the house.

Detectives are investigating what are thought to be three subsequent shootings that night and shots fired at a house on Silver Street earlier that night as related and part of an ongoing dispute between two groups of people, according to previous reports from Tonyia McGirt, public information officer for the police department.

Rose, 42, of Council Street, is a suspect in the June break-in at Burgess Do It Center, a building supply stores on Dingle Street, where nearly $1,000 in tools and other items were reported stolen.

Curtis, 18, of Somerset Drive, is wanted on multiple charges in connection with an Oct. 5 armed robbery at Sumter Pawn Shop. Three other men were apprehended last month for their reported roles in the case.
