Sumter High School turned a 19-16 halftime lead into a 46-27 advantage after three quarters on the way to a 63-35 varsity girls basketball win over South Florence on Tuesday at the SHS gymnasium.
The Lady Gamecocks, who improved to 13-5 on the season and 5-2 in Region VI-5A, outscored SF 27-11 in the third quarter.
Kiara Jones had a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds for Sumter. Latrice Lyons added 15 points.
Layken Cox had seven points, while Tajanque Johnson had five points and seven rebounds and Tamerah Brown had five points and seven assists.

DALZELL - Aubrey Stoddard had 13 points and seven rebounds to lead Thomas Sumter Academy to a 44-20 victory over Carolina Academy on Tuesday at Edens Gymnasium.
Caetlyn Martin added eight points for TSA. Josie Reed had six points and five assists, Taja Hunley had four points and 10 rebounds and Carmen Silvester had six rebounds and five steals.
Marley Ward led Carolina with 13 points.

ORANGEBURG - Natalie Jackson had a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds to lead Wilson Hall to a 59-30 win over Orangeburg Prep on Tuesday at the OP gymnasium.
The Lady Barons improved to 15-6 overall and 4-1 in SCISA Region II-3A.
Courtney Clark just missed a double-double for WH as she finished with 13 points and nine rebounds. Susanna Hutson connected on three 3-point baskets for nine points. Haley Roone McCaffrey had six points and Madison Elmore had five points, five steals and four rebounds.
Marlee Robinson led the Lady Indians with 12 points.

Gracen Watts added 18 points for the Lady Wolverines. Caitlin Timmons had nine, Valencia Garris had eight and Britni Anderson had seven.

CHARELSTON – Manning High School trailed just 25-24 but was outscored 28-11 in the second half in a 53-35 loss to Bishop England on Tuesday at the BE gymnasium.
Mahogany Green scored 15 points to lead the Lady Monarchs, who fell to 17-5 overall and 4-2 in Region VII-3A. Niyah Brand added nine and Ariyonia Busby had six.
