With a special called, virtual meeting of the full board Monday and two virtual committee meetings on Thursday, it will be a busy upcoming week for Sumter School District's Board of Trustees.
A district spokeswoman notified the media of the meetings last week, and an agenda for Monday's full board meeting was placed online.
According to the agenda, as soon as the meeting begins, the trustees will go into executive session behind closed doors for legal advice and other discussion. The board may take action when it returns to open session. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m.
Since their monthly board meeting on April 6, the district has kept all meetings closed in-person to the public. All people wanting to attend meetings virtually have been able to do so via YouTube Sumter School District Board Meeting and the district's Facebook page, @SumterSCSchools.
Later in the upcoming week, two school board committees will have virtual meetings on Thursday, according to district staff. The board's Finance Committee will have its monthly meeting at 10 a.m., and the Policy Committee will meet virtually at 5:30 p.m.
Similarly, people can attend those meetings virtually via YouTube.
