Sumter High hit the road to face Ridge View on Friday. The 5A No. 6 Gamecocks narrowly defeated the 4A No. 10 Blazers 15-14 to improve to 2-0. Sumter scored with less than two minutes remaining and converted a 2-point attempt to earn the win. They host Goose Creek next week.

CRESTWOOD 37

GRAY COLLEGIATE 28

A mistake-filled first half nearly sank Crestwood against Gray Collegiate on Friday night. A last-second touchdown to end the opening half proved to swing the momentum in the Knights’ favor, as a 28-14 deficit was erased on the way to a 37-28 win.

Crestwood travels to Andrew Jackson next week.

Manning beat Scott's Branch in a run-heavy contest 32-14 on Friday. Manning will play East Clarendon next week, while Scott's Branch travels to Great Falls.

Friday’s football meeting between SCISA rivals Thomas Sumter Academy and Lee Academy at The Hill did not have the usual sizzle of a late-season region matchup, and the Cavaliers took much of the juice out early by racing to a 28-0 halftime lead.
Lee head coach David Rankin went deep into his bench beginning with the Cavs’ final offensive series of the first half as the Cavs closed with a 35-7 thumping of the Generals.
