The Sumter High School varsity boys soccer team defeated Lakewood 2-0 on Saturday at J. Frank Baker Stadium to win the 24th Annual Gator Classic.
The Gamecocks went 3-0 in the tournament, beating Camden 3-0 and Wilson Hall 8-0.

Jordy Gutierrez-Mendoza was named the tournament most valuable player, while Dyson Roberts was the team MVP.
Roberts and Mendoza both scored a goal in the championship match. Jehu McCray had an assist.
Justin Rabon and Cameron Ragin combined on the shutout in goal.
In the win over Camden on Saturday, Gutierrez-Mendoza had a goal and two assists. Brian Gamboa and McCray each scored a goal and Ben Conner had an assist.
Rabon and Ragin combined for the shutout in this match.
In the win over Wilson Hall, Roberts had four goals. Gutierrez-Mendoza had three goals and two assists and MiKyle McGuire had a goal. Patrick McKnight and Conner each had an assist.
Rabon and Ragin pitched the shutout on goal.
Lakewood made it to the championship match with a pair of -0 victories. The Gators beat Thomas Sumter Academy on North Central in its first match on Saturday.
Wilson Hall ended up going 2-1, finishing fifth in the tournament. After losing to Sumter, the Barons beat Manning 2-1 and Bamberg-Ehrhardt 6-1.
Manning was seventh, going 1-2. Along with the loss to Wilson Hall, Manning lost to Camden 4-1. Manning defeated TSA 1-0.
Thomas Sumter went 0-3. Its other loss was 1-0 to B-E.
