Sumter Today: We learn what it takes to become a lifeguard

This recent hot weather has our minds on the water, so we hopped over to the Sumter Family YMCA to learn more about their lifeguard certification process. Prospective lifeguards at the Y have to simulate different scenarios to show they'll know what to do in a life-saving scenario. While we were there, we also talked about some swimming safety tips that we should all keep in mind throughout the summer.
