Sumter Today: Students keep up with reading goals over the summer

Posted

A camp that has almost 300 kids enrolled is aiming to prevent summer reading loss by keeping students engaged and learning while they’re out of school. Project SOAR is a partnership between the school district and local nonprofits and churches that has second and third graders participating in activities themed around space, flight and animals. Campers are also given free breakfast and lunch during the camp to keep them healthy and focused all year long.
