Sumter Today: City of Sumter gives students job experience through a summer program

The City of Sumter holds a youth employment program every summer for students age 16 through high school. Participants receive a pay check for working at local businesses through the co-op program, and they get opportunities to tour various city departments and learn about inner workings of a local government and municipality.
