Sumter Today: A historical building in Sumter opens for public use

The Meeting House is Sumter’s newest event venue, and it’s historical past was celebrated recently at its grand opening. The home of the family of General Thomas Sumter, the American Revolutionary general who is Sumter’s namesake, was renovated at the corner of Memorial Park in the historic district. At the opening, people talked about the history of the house, including our very own Sammy Way.
