Pete Schmid has been a school resource officer with the Sumter Police Department for nine years. He spends his day making sure students and staff at Alice Drive and Bates middle schools are safe, but his job is about more than just being ready to respond to a dangerous incident. We tagged along with him to show you more about what a school resource officer does.
