Sumter Today: Sumter’s eSTEAM Festival brings thousands of kids downtown

If you were anywhere near downtown on Saturday and didn’t know what was happening, you might have wondered why there were 5,000 kids running around with things like slime and art projects and robots. The second-annual eSTEAM festival welcomed families out to South Main Street in front of Central Carolina Technical College for a day of hands-on activities aimed at getting them engaged in STEM and the arts. There were booths and performances and food, and luckily this year it actually felt like fall.
