Sumter Today: The fire department heats up its training

Every structure fire the Sumter Fire Department responds to is one too many, but they must still train to make sure they’re ready for anything. A group of both career and volunteer firefighters got together recently to conduct the department’s annual recertification burn training, and we got up close and personal with the controlled burning building.
