Sumter Today: High school seniors enjoy an academic signing day

Posted

Four high school seniors in Sumter recently attended a singing day to start them on a path toward their future, but their talent won’t be played out on the field. They all are in the final months of a year-long Introduction to Manufacturing course at Sumter Career and Technology Center. By the time the class ends, they will have been exposed to training and certifications in occupational safety, forklift operations, soft skills and construction education. This is all part of a youth apprenticeship program between CCTC and local industries, and these students will graduate toward an official path to a career with Continental that they started during the program.
