Sumter Today: Giving Thanks with Sumter United Ministries

Posted

The Giving Thanks project is an effort by Sumter United Ministries to guarantee families in the area get a Thanksgiving meal. Director of the Crisis Relief Ministry Kevin Howell says it's strategic, the way they gather the foods most popular on the holiday. Organizations like schools, churches, and civic groups will sponsor items like potatoes or boxes of stuffing. Over the course of two months they gather the necessities to compile 150 of these Thanksgiving boxes. Sumter Today is presented by the University of South Carolina Sumter, Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital, and Sumter Tourism Visit Sumter, SC.
