Public schools in Sumter will begin their school year this fall how last school year ended. At home. Sumter School District’s Board of Trustees unanimously agreed on Monday night to approve Superintendent Penelope Martin-Knox’s recommendation to begin school on Aug. 17 with virtual, online instruction.
