"It's treasure hunting at its best," says Art Gose, founder and president of S.C. Bottle Hunters. The group has over 5,000 members across the state, all searching for pieces of South Carolina history that's buried just below the surface. A group dig was held in Sumter this weekend where the primary target was turn-of-the-century S.C. dispensary bottles that are highly sought after by collectors. Art credits his father Ted with his passion for the hobby, and tells the story of his first dig in the episode. His father was lost to suicide, and the majority of the dig's entrance fees will be donated to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Sumter Today is presented by the University of South Carolina Sumter, Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital, and Sumter Tourism.
