Sumter Today: Some city greenspace transforms into a wiffle ball field.

Local community leaders helped bring families some exercise and socialization last week when they transformed an open greenspace in the city into a wiffle ball field.
City Councilman David Merchant brought his kids and invited families out to play, and he called up Keith Ivey, the director of the Midlands Fatherhood Coalition, who also brought some of the program’s dads and kids. With COVID-19 delaying the opening of the field this spring, they want to offer a fun, free opportunity for people to focus on their families.
