According to DHEC's daily update Wednesday, 4,761 people in South Carolina have tested positive for the virus after an additional 160 new cases were confirmed, including now 206 in Sumter County, 138 in Clarendon and 42 in Lee.

Another Clarendon County resident was announced Wednesday to have died from COVID-19, bringing the county's death toll to nine, according to DHEC. The elderly patient was one of five victims announced Wednesday. There have now been 140 deaths in the state.
