Sumter Volunteer Income Tax Assistance to offer free tax services at The Cabin at ADBC

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (Sumter VITA) has moved to The Cabin at the back of Alice Drive Baptist Church property, 1305 Loring Mill Road, corner of Loring Mill and Wise Drive. Sumter VITA offers free income tax return preparation and electronic filing for federal and South Carolina returns.

Services will be provided by appointment only. Please call Jo-Ann at (803) 446-6251 to make an appointment or for more information. Appointments will be scheduled for between noon and 4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Bring your Social Security card for yourself, your spouse and any dependents to the appointment. You will also need a government-issued photo ID for yourself and your spouse. Bring W-2s, 1099s, 1098s and all income documents for everyone on your return. Also, bring your return from last year. If you purchased medical insurance from the market place, you will need the 1095 for everyone on your return. For direct deposit, you will need to bring a check for the preparer to see.

Sumter VITA is possible by grants from the Cooperative Ministry in Columbia in partnership with the IRS.
