Superintendent report before Sumter School District Board

The superintendent's report highlights Sumter School District's Board of Trustees' first meeting of the new year, scheduled for Monday night.

A district staff member placed the agenda online Friday for the public and the media in accordance with open records laws.

Superintendent Penelope Martin-Knox is beginning her first spring semester with the district now after officially beginning in the post July 1.

Other agenda items include committee reports, and student, staff and community recognitions, according to the agenda. After an executive session behind closed doors, the board will return to open session to vote on a district personnel report and have second reading on a new videotaping policy of students and staff.

Monday's board meeting will be in the library at Hillcrest Middle School, 4355 Peach Orchard Road, in Dalzell. Like all board-related meetings, the meeting is open to the public. Public participation is also listed on the agenda.
