SUSAN STACHURA ROBERTS

Posted

Susan Stachura Roberts, beloved wife of the late Clifford Roberts, died on Friday, Aug. 7, 2020, at Sumter Health and Rehab.

Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, she was a daughter of Avis R. Faucher and the late Robert Stachura. Susan was a free spirit and a devoted wife to her late husband, Cliff, and a best friend to Todd Mayberry. A tiny little thing, she was dark haired with dark eyes, the spitting imagine of her dad. She was a tough little one, always running to catch up. Susan was a fierce and loyal friend, at times to her own detriment. She suffered no fools and always walked to the beat of her own drum. Susan once said the happiest she had been was when she joined the Peace Corps. She loved easily and deeply. She was an animal lover, especially to dogs and cats. She was always a champion of animals. Susan just could not and would not say no to a stray dog or cat that crossed her path. She had a sharp wit and could take you down with a glance.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by a brother, Robert Stachura; and one sister, Lynda "Jinger" Dwyer, all of Sumter.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery.
