Susie D. Leake, 88, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, at Palmetto Health Tuomey, Sumter.
Born on Feb. 28, 1929, in Sumter County, she was the daughter of the late Alberta Dinkins.
She was educated in the public schools of both Sumter and Kershaw counties.
Susie accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age. She was baptized and became a faithful member of Good Hope United Methodist Church, Rembert. Later, she joined the Jehovah Witnesses Kingdom Hall.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Alice Peay Dinkins; her mother, Alberta Dinkins; two aunts, Jessie Harris and LeJane Wilson; one uncle, Henry Dinkins Sr.; one nephew, Joseph McCargo; and her twin sister, Camilla Dinkins.
She leaves to cherish her memories two sisters, Alice Hugley and Ann Harris, both of New York; one niece, Hannah Dinkins, of New York; two nephews, James Dinkins of Georgia and Richard Dinkins of New York; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home, 2920 Crest Haven Drive, Dalzell.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home Inc., 821 N. Main St., Sumter, with the Rev. Frank Williams Jr., eulogist.
The funeral processional will leave from the home at 10:20 a.m.
Burial will be in the Good Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery, Highway 261 North, Rembert.
Services are directed by the management and staff of Williams Funeral Home Inc., 821 N. Main St. Sumter.
