Tammy Kay Truett Compton, 59, wife of Charles Richard "Ricky" Compton, died on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, at McLeod Health Clarendon in Manning.

Born on March 2, 1962, in Hartsville, she was a daughter of the late James W. and Rudine Tanner Truett. Mrs. Compton was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was employed by Myson's Tires.

Survivors in addition to her husband of 41 years include two daughters, Frances "Lynn" Compton and Ashley Hardee, both of Sumter; four granddaughters, Linsey Hardee, Kalie Hardee, Dakota Compton and Rylee Sapp; four brothers, Jimmy Truett (Judy), Al Joyner (Jeanette) and Jeff Joyner, all of Sumter, and Jerry Joyner (Emma Jean) of Alcolu; one sister, Phyllis Flowers of Huntersville, North Carolina; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Kevin Mixon and the Rev. Dr. Eugene Mosier officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
