Temple Sinai in Sumter is holding its calendar sale for the third year. An unveiling of the calendar and an artist meet and greet with Alexandra Trapp will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, at the temple, 11 Church St. in Sumter.

The Temple Sinai 5782/2022 calendar features Trapp's artwork for each month of the upcoming year including the Bimah, the Moorish Revival Style Temple from outside, the butterfly wall and of course nine more.

The suggested donation for this fundraiser is $10. The local artist will be on site to sign calendars; a light reception will be held. Participants are invited to explore the Temple Sinai Jewish History Center permanent exhibit as well as Ackerman Hall, featuring the traveling exhibit Pursuing Justice: Nuremberg's Legacy.

Trapp stated, "I have been in the art field for most of my life, and over the past few years, I have been able to progress in my art and make it more than just a hobby. I am honored to have been a part of the 2022 calendar for Temple Sinai and hope my work speaks truth, goodness and beauty."

Alexandria, now a junior in high school, sells her art in local stores, interns for a local magazine and is now accepting commissions. She is also the newest addition to the Elizabeth Moses Gift Shop, where you can purchase her framed original artwork.
