TESSIE PRITCHARD LEONARD

Posted

LEXINGTON, N.C. - Tessie "Tweety" Pritchard Leonard, 58, of Lexington, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2020, at her home in Lexington.

She was born on Jan. 5, 1962, in Sumter, to the late Raymond and Jean Player Pritchard. She was loved by many. She never met a stranger that left not feeling special. Our Mom was very special, she was an angelic ray of sunshine. She loved to smile, laugh and always was the life of the party. Mom loved racing and her Black Pearl Race team. When she was able, you would catch her on the pontoon fishing and riding on the lake, beach, shagging, listening to music, dancing and enjoying life. She loved sunflowers, playing cards, reading her Bible and watching movies. She holds a special bond with all four of her "grandgirls." She loved them so much, they were her "SunShines."

She lived for Jesus and loved him so much as she leaves this world, leaving a message to all whom loved her: "You have heard me say, I am going away and coming back to you. If you loved me, you would rejoice because I said I am going to the Father, for my Father is greater than I." John 14:28

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Teri Pritchard Levy.

Tessie is survived by her husband, Gene Leonard; two daughters, Tezla Lynch Mullins of Salisbury, North Carolina, and Angel Lynch Huneycutt of Albemarle, North Carolina; four "grandgirls," Spiriten Rae Bowers "BT", Karsyn "Kbugg" Mullins of Salisbury, Emily "Best friend" Huneycutt and Harleyn "Sunshine" Hill of Albemarle; one sister, Gwyn Norris of Sumter; two brothers, Ray Pritchard of Sumter and John Pritchard (Ruth Ann) of Sumter; a brother-in-law, Bruce Levy of Norwood; special best friends, Janice and Larry Thompson; and her fur babies, Logan and Sissy.

The family held a Celebration of Life for her on Sunday at her daughter's home as she wished no service or funeral was held.

The family is receiving friends at the home of Angel Huneycutt throughout this week.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Trellis Hospice, Pruitt Health Hospice,\ and the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice staff.

Carolina Cremation of Salisbury and Charlotte is assisting the Leonard family. Online condolences may be made at www.carolinacremation.com.
