Thanksgiving Schedule: Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2020

BANKS - All area banks and credit unions will be closed Thursday.

GOVERNMENT - The following will be closed Thursday and Friday: state government offices; City of Sumter offices; Sumter County offices; Clarendon County offices; City of Manning offices; Lee County offices; and City of Bishopville offices.

Federal government offices and the U.S. Postal Service will be closed on Thursday.

SCHOOLS - The following will be closed through Friday: Clarendon School District 1, Clarendon School District 2, Thomas Sumter Academy and Clarendon Hall.

The following will be closed Wednesday-Friday: Lee County Public Schools, Lee Academy, Wilson Hall, Laurence Manning Academy, Sumter Christian School and USC Sumter.

The following will be closed Thursday and Friday: Sumter School District, Clarendon School District 3, Morris College and Central Carolina Technical College.

UTILITIES - Black River Electric Coop. and Farmers Telephone Coop. will be closed Thursday and Friday.

OTHER - Clemson Extension Service and the Greater Sumter Chamber of Commerce will be closed Thursday and Friday.

The Sumter County Library and the Harvin Clarendon County Library will be closed Thursday and Friday.

The Sumter Item will close at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, will be closed on Thursday and will close at 3 p.m. on Friday. The newspaper will not publish on Thanksgiving Day.

The City of Sumter will collect residential garbage on Thanksgiving Day. Residents are asked to have their roll cart at the curb by 7 a.m. for collection. For additional information, call (803) 436-2558.
