1. Scott's Branch teams to each play in state semis

The Scott’s Branch girls basketball team played its way into the 1A Lower State championship game for the third straight season on Monday, beating Baptist Hill 60-44. The boys played Tuesday, earning a spot in the state semifinal with a victory over Military Magnet Academy 55-53.
2. Crestwood advances to state semis
The Crestwood girls beat Wilson 58-49 on Monday to earn
a spot in the 4A Lower State championship game. The Lady Knights will play against North Augusta on Friday at Florence Center.
3. Clarendon Hall earns spot in SCISA 1A semis
The Clarendon Hall boys basketball team used a dominating second half to roll past Charleston Collegiate 84-61 on Monday night. The win put the Saints in the SCISA 1A semifinals against Richard Winn on Thursday at Wilson Hall’s Nash Student Center.
4. Sumter High pitchers take mound in spring training
A pair of Sumter alumni made their 2020 spring training debuts on Monday. Jordan Montgomery pitched for the Yankees, pitching 2 scoreless frames. Charlie Barnes, a non-roster invitee for Minnesota, made his first MLB appearance, earning a save by pitching 2 innings and allowing 1 run.
5. #1 South Carolina women take down #14 Kentucky

The Gamecocks held on to the top spot in The Associated Press rankings with a 67-58 win over No. 14 Kentucky on Sunday. The win was coach Dawn Staley’s 300th in her career at USC and clinched the SEC regular-season title for USC. The Gamecocks have won 5 of the last 7 SEC titles.
