THOMAS BLAIR

Thomas Blair, formerly of 20 E. Williams St., Sumter, was born April 1, 1926, in Sumter County, a son of the late Willie Keels Blair and Girtie Walters Blair. He departed this earthly life on Sunday morning, July 28, 2019, at Pruitt Health Nursing Home in Estill.

He attended the public schools of Sumter County and was self-employed for many years as a handyman. He was a lifelong member of Rock Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

He leaves to cherish precious memories: a niece, Shelia Blair Johnson of Sumter; a nephew, John Blair of Sumter; and a grandniece, Heather Foster (Derrick) March of Houston, Texas.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Luvenia Davis and Lillie Mae Johnson; a brother, John Blair; two nieces, Lillie Mae Miller Bennett and Lucynda Foster; and a nephew, Sammie Lee Johnson Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rock Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Leon Winn officiating. Interment will follow at the churchyard cemetery.

The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. for viewing until the hour of service.

The funeral cortege will leave at 10:20 a.m. Saturday from the chapel of Sumter Funeral Service Inc.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. today in the chapel of Sumter Funeral Service Inc.
