The students of Thomas Sumter Academy's National Junior Honor Society fulfilled the school's motto "Acta Non Verba (Actions not Words)" during the holiday season.

TSA's NJHS chapter, directed by Julie Daniel and Trever Miller, maximized student participation to obtain pet food to feed hungry animals.

The team was led by middle school students Abby Cox and Thomas Parrish. Under their supervision, the team obtained more than 550 pounds of pet food. Furthermore, the students contacted local and national retailers in an effort to obtain more pet food.

All of the pet food collected was distributed to the Lee County Humane Society.
