Tip leads to arrest of 'armed, dangerous' man

43-year-old faces charges in connection to armed robbery, kidnapping, attempted murder

A man law enforcement said was "armed and extremely dangerous" was arrested Sunday morning in connection to an attempted murder of two South Sumter business employees late Friday.

Charles Spencer Anderson, 43, faces charges related to an alleged armed robbery, kidnapping and attempted murder, according to Adrienne Sarvis, public information officer for the Sumter County Sheriff's Office. He was located based on a tip from the public.

The business where the incident occurred is near the intersection of Pocalla Road and Guignard Parkway in Sumter County.

The sheriff's office put out a call for information to help them locate and detain Anderson on Saturday morning.

According to Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center inmate data, bond was denied.
