TSA senior is named Wendy's Heisman winner

Thomas Sumter Academy senior Sydney Daniel was named a state winner of the Wendy's High School Heisman Scholarship for South Carolina. According to the scholarship website, the program is a joint program between Wendy's and the Heisman Trophy Trust, host and custodians of the Heisman Memorial Trophy. Sydney was one of 99 national finalists and one of two from South Carolina. Over the last 25 years Wendy's has "honored more than 600,000 of the nation's most esteemed high school seniors who share" and exhibit the values of paying it forward (giving back to their communities), mutual respect, continuing education and excelling on the athletic fields of competition.
