TSA Student Wins Optimist Youth of the Year Award

Thomas Sumter Academy eighth-grader Landyn Stevens was recently named the winner of the Optimist Youth of the Year Award. Stevens' recognition is for outstanding academic achievement, continual community involvement and dynamic leadership in sports. Landyn is involved with a wide variety of student council activities, has a 4.13 GPA, has contributed hundreds of hours to local causes and charities, is the TSA junior varsity football quarterback, plays basketball and is a varsity track and field team member. He qualified for the South Carolina Independent School Association State Conference and on May 4 will represent TSA in the 4X400 meter relay.
