A two-vehicle wreck at the intersection of U.S. 441 and Green Lane in Lee County resulted in one fatality on May 19.
At about 2:45 p.m., a 2004 Dodge truck was traveling south on U.S. 441 when a 2011 Ford truck traveling west on Green Lane disregarded a stop sign and struck the other vehicle, said South Carolina Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. David Jones.
According to Jones, the operator of the Dodge truck was transported by EMS with life threatening injuries to a hospital in Columbia, where the driver later succumbed to his injuries.
Lee County Coroner Larry Logan identified the driver of the Dodge truck was Eugene Jennings, 73, of Bishopville.
The operator of the Ford truck, Dana Lewis, was transported by air to Prisma Health Richland Hospital, Jones said. Condition is unknown at this time.
The wreck remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
