Vincent Bernard Croom, 55, departed this earthly realm for his heavenly home on Friday, Aug. 2, 2019.

Born Nov. 18, 1963, in Sumter, he was a son of the late James and Pearl Croom. Vincent joined High Hills Baptist Church at an early age. He attended the public schools of Sumter County. He was employed by Sumter County School District and was adept in multiple trades. Vincent loved his family, his McDonald's and Shell station crews, his Chevy truck and voicing his opinion.

Precious memories will be cherished by his daughter, Valencia Croom, and her mother, a lifelong friend, Natalie Gooden; four sisters, Valerie (Horace) Williams, Felicia (Darren, a lifetime brother) Croom, Vickie Robinson of Sumter and Brenadette Henson of Dallas; one brother, David (Angie) Rivers of Sumter; nine nieces; one nephew; nine grandnephews; two grandnieces; five aunts; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home of his sister, 4300 Patriot Parkway, Sumter.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Lakewood High School Auditorium, 350 Old Manning Road, Sumter, with the Rev. James Durant presiding and the Rev. D.L. Grant, eulogist.

The remains will be placed in the auditorium at noon.

The funeral procession will leave at 12:15 p.m. from the home.

Burial will be at High Hills AME Church Cemetery, 6780 Meeting House Road, Dalzell.
