VIRGINIA GEDDINGS LARKINS

Virginia Geddings Larkins, 79, widow of Edward R. Larkins, died on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2019, at a local nursing facility.

Born on Dec. 7, 1939, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Robert P. and Ruth Ardis Geddings. She was a member of Calvary Church of the Nazarene and retired from Bosch Manufacturing. She was a very loving mother and grandmother.

Survivors include five children, Betty Alsbrooks (Tim), Glenn Larkins (Tracy), David Larkins, Mike Larkins (Angela) and Tammy Avins (Woody), all of Sumter; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mattie Hiner of Sumter; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Barkley; and two brothers, Archie Geddings and Jim Geddings.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Arthur Sharpe officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Grimsley, Phillip Irick, Colin Floyd, Travis Howard, Zachary Scurry and Buddy Hiner.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Larkins, 2885 Southgate Drive.
