Virginia McMillan, 84, was born on Dec. 28, 1935, in Lee County, the youngest daughter of the late Johnny Richardson and Mary Lizzie McMillian. She was called to her eternal home on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2020, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital, Sumter.

She was educated in the public schools of Lee County and graduated from Dennis High School Class of 1956. After high school, Virginia moved to New Jersey, where she was employed with both Joyce Food Products and Spotless Cleaners. She later moved back to Woodrow and worked in housekeeping at National Healthcare Nursing Home in Sumter, where she retired after 18 years of services.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Sharon McMillian of the home and Melissa (Willie) Wilson of Woodrow; two granddaughters, Lakeisha (Arsenio) Bradford of Dalzell and Jenetta Wilson of Woodrow; three grandsons, Vincent (Michelle) Wilson of Dalzell and Latwano and Kaquan McMillian of the home; 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In accordance with COVID-19 guidelines, the family is requesting no visitation.

Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Cooksfield Cemetery, J.D. Heriot Road, Dalzell.

The procession will leave at 10:20 a.m. from the home.
