W. KENNETH BEASLEY

William K. "Ken" Beasley, 74, husband of Gwen Kemmerlin Beasley, died on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2021, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.

Born on Feb. 3, 1947, in Sumter, he was a son of the late John Marion Beasley and Mary Sue Lee Beasley. He was a member of The Church of Our Savior (Wise Drive Baptist Church) and retired from Discount Furniture Outlet. A graduate of the University of South Carolina, he was an avid Gamecock fan and supporter of the Gamecock Club.

Survivors in addition to his wife include two daughters, Mary Kathleen Smith (Eric) and Anna Jean DeWeese (Randy), both of Summerville; five grandchildren, Alexandria Smith, Isabella Smith, Kiet Smith, Juilana DeWeese and Brooks Wesley Van Dorn DeWeese; a brother, Wayne Beasley of Sumter; and a sister, Terry Dutcher (Scott) of Sumter.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Louise McElveen.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Ken's life will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends following the memorial gathering at the home of Celeste Baker, 120 Hydrangea Way, Sumter, SC 29153.
