REMBERT - Wallace Cotton, 88, died on Thursday, April 1, 2021, at his home in Rembert.

Born in Huntington, Indiana, he was a son of the late Steve Wallace Cotton and Mary Isabelle Johnson. Mr. Cotton was twice married, first to the late Vona M. Gaston Cotton, then later to the late Mary Elizabeth Cotton. Mr. Cotton was a U.S. Air Force Korean War veteran and a retired aircraft mechanic. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a Shriner, volunteer fireman and member of the VFW and the Midlands Retired Military Association.

Surviving are two sons, William Cotton of Rembert and Charles Hurlburt of Dalzell; three daughters, Maggie Hurlburt Kenyan and Janet Hurlburt Haynes, both of Sumter, and Deborah Hurlburt Napper of Lancaster; a sister, Lenora Hundson of California; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Cotton.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. David Richardson officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
