SUMMERTON – Wallace Woodrow Baughman, 82, husband of Betty Ann Tilton Baughman, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007, at Clarendon Memorial Hospital in Manning.

Born July 11, 1925, in Winnsboro, he was a son of the late Clarence Louis and Cora Lee Hoover Baughman. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, a retired self-employed paint contractor, a member of Cypress Fork Free Will Baptist Church, a member of the DAV Commanders Club, and he loved to fish.

Surviving besides his wife of Summerton are three sons, Mike Baughman of Manning, Tony Tilton of Alcolu and Henry L. Carlisle III of Texas; four daughters, Susan Mazelin and Kathy Cales of Manning, and Deborah Cannon and Melba Baughman of Summerville; a brother, Henry Baughman of Winnsboro; a sister-in-law, Emily Baughman of Gaston; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home in Manning with the Rev. Odell Mouzon officiating, assisted by the Rev. W.D. Jones. Burial will follow in Cypress Fork Free Will Baptist Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Stephens Funeral Home in Manning.
