Walter C. Hehr Jr.

Walter Christian Hehr Jr., age 74, beloved husband of 56 years to Jacqueline Edwards Hehr, died on Monday, Nov. 7, 2011, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Hehr was born on April 6, 1937, in Cleveland, Ohio, a son of the late Walter Christian and Loris Walter Hehr. He was a member of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of the Hillcrest Masonic Lodge and served more than 30 years as a Mason. He loved hunting and reading but his true passion was day trips with his wife. He was a loving and supportive husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. He loved his church and church family, where he served as an usher.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Brian Douglas Hehr and his wife, Anita, of Newberry, Ohio, Karl Edward Hehr and his wife, Dorothy, of Cape Coral, Fla., and Christopher Allen Hehr of Newberry; one brother, John George Hehr and his wife, Lynn; one sister, Gail Christine Winbigler and her husband, James; seven grandchildren, Dawn Marie Hehr Conover, Carrie Lynn Hehr Cribbs, Joshua Brain Hehr, Eric Mathew Hehr, Christine Elizabeth Hehr, Amanda Grace Hehr and Alexander Christian Hehr; and five great-grandsons.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Webb Belangia.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church.
