BISHOPVILLE - Funeral services for Walter Curtis Kelley Sr., age 80, will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday at St. Matthew United Methodist Church. The Rev. Kathy Carr, the Rev. Barbie Parsons and the Rev. Dewey Dean will officiate. Burial will be at St. Matthew Cemetery, directed by Norton Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Curtis was born in Bishopville, a son of the late Robert S. and Ollie Mae Watson Kelley. He was a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church. He served in the Air Force for four years, having served in England for three of those years. He was a retired truck driver and farmer. He was an avid gardener. He was honored for 38 years of safe driving with Turner Trucking Co. and was truck driver of the year in 1989. He was a person who loved to give and loved to pull pranks on his sisters. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Surviving are his wife, Judy Smith Kelley of Bishopville; one son, Walter Curtis (Cathy) Kelley Jr. of Bishopville; three daughters, Karen (Dr. Al) McCaskill of Bishopville, Rita (Glenn) Horton of Bishopville and Lisa (Greg) Alewine of Bishopville; five grandchildren, Walter Curtis (Trey) Kelley III of Clemson, Erin Grace Kelley of Bishopville, Alva Laverne McCaskill IV of Bishopville, Kristy Ola (David) Hutson of Gilbert and Amber (Chad) McCaskill Parker of Bishopville; two step-grandchildren, Allison (Kip) Wright of Heath Springs and Cindy Horton of Lancaster; three great-grandchildren, Cannon, Fields and Willow; seven step-great-grandchildren, Braydon, Ashton, Ali Grace, Megan, Justin, Austin and Mason; one brother, Beverly (Judy) Kelley of Bishopville; five sisters, Celeste (James) Outlaw of Bishopville, Patsy McCoy of Bishopville, Mary (Tommy) Sellers of Pawleys Island, Portia (Al) Smith of Bishopville and Brenda Collins of Bethune; and sister-in-law, Fran Kelley of Bishopville.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Minnie Ola Gardner Kelley; and a brother, Donald Kelley.
