Warren Burgess Clark Jr., age 75, beloved husband of 56 years to Peggy Pritchard Clark, died on Saturday, April 20, 2019, at the Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia.

Born in Charleston, he was a son of the late Warren Burgess Clark Sr. and Fannie Davis Clark. Mr. Clark served in the U.S. Army for four years and retired from the Sumter Police Department after 19 years of dedicated service. He was an avid gunsmith and loved fishing. He enjoyed old movies, especially his Westerns and John Wayne. His true joy in life was spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, Peggy, he is survived by two sons, Joseph Warren Clark of Omaha, Nebraska, and Philip Michael Clark and his wife, Kimberly, of Sumter; one daughter, Mary Kathryn Clark Gosselin and her husband, David, of Sumter; one sister, Jo Clark White of Sumter; four grandchildren, Mitchell Brennan, Cameron Bryant, Michael Clark and Ashlynn Clark; and one great-grandchild, Lincoln Bryant.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Nell Cannon.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Walker and Cleveland Pinkney officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery with the Sumter Police rendering full police honors.

The Sumter County Sheriff's Office Honor Guard will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the service on Wednesday at Bullock Funeral Home.
