WAYNE HARMON GEDDINGS

Wayne Harmon Geddings, 73, husband of Tessie Louise Geddings, died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2019, at Prisma Health Baptist Hospital in Columbia.

Born Feb. 22, 1946, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Harmon Ezra and Myrtle Irick Geddings. He attended Sumter schools and Wise Drive Church of Nazarene. He retired as owner and operator of Wayne's Auto Sales and also Carolina Registers after 18 years of service.

Survivors include his wife of Sumter; seven children, Dwayne Geddings (Kelly), Audrey Shirley and Paula Thynes (Chris), all of Sumter, Brian Geddings (Lori) of Winder, Georgia, Roy Bratton (Mattie), Ricky Bratton (Tracy) and Danny Bratton, all of Sumter; 22 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Ann Wright of Sumter, Patsy Barfield of Coward and Delores Griffin of Sumter.

He was preceded in death by a son, Henry Bratton; a daughter, Brenda Kalkhof; and a sister, Daisy Mouzon.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert "Bob" Morris and the Rev. Geordan Geddings.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.

Burial will be at Sumter Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home, 301 N. Wise Drive, and 2729 Browning Ridge Drive.
