Where to get free sand in Sumter, Clarendon ahead of Tropical Storm Debby

The City of Sumter is giving away sandbags at Dillon Park in preparation for Tropical Storm Debby. It is available on a first come, first served basis. From children and parents to married couples and friends, everyone was working together on Monday, Aug. 5, to fill large bags and carry them to their vehicles.
Sumter is forecasted to get up to a foot of rain by Friday.

- 4888 Broad St., Sumter (near Shaw Air Force Base)
- Thomas Concrete, 630 Mill St., Manning
